2017 Dundee International Book Prize

Are you an UNPUBLISHED (not self-published unless via Kindle or Ebook) writer with a novel manuscript ready to go?

Then it would be worth entering the Dundee International Book Prize 2017 – even though the deadline is Monday, March 13th by Midnight (GMT).  The Dundee International Book Prize has established itself as the UK’s premier prize for debut novelists.

Submission Highlights

  • The entry must be a novel, in English and an original work of fiction.
  • Only one manuscript per entrant and authors must be living at the time
  • It’s a blind contest – manuscripts should not contain the name of the author or a pseudonym anywhere on the manuscript or synopsis. The name of the author should only appear on the entry form.
  • All submissions should be emailed to bookprize@dundee.ac.uk
  • The winner will be announced at the 2017 Dundee Literary Festival (18th – 22nd October 2017)
  • .There is no limit on the length of the submitted novel.
  • The Prize favours literary fiction but not to the exclusion of other genres.
  • Submissions represented by an agent are acceptable and we ask that the agent make the submission.
  • Novels for children or young adults will not be accepted.
  • Applicants must not have any novel(s) previously published in print, neither the manuscript entered into the prize, nor a different book. The manuscript entered into the prize will, if published, be the applicant’s first published novel
  • Submissions may not be under current consideration by another publisher before March 31st 2017. Any submissions found to be under consideration will be disqualified.

The Aquarian was backed by the celebrated Freewinds Band and Dominican singing sensation Michele Henderson. Top Barbadian musicians who also were featured in her CD shared the stage: saxophonist extradordinaire (Chris Harper (founder of "Cool Jazz'); beloved Bajan diva Tamara Marshall and multi-awarding winning Dwain Gill (on trombone).
