great weather for MEDIA anthology (US)

great weather for MEDIA is an independent press “based in New York City and showcases both national and international writers. As well as publishing the highest quality poetry and prose, [they] organize  many readings, performances, and book releases in New York City and across the country”.  They prefer new and emerging writers, and other small presses.

They are seeking poetry, flash fiction, short stories, dramatic monologues, and creative nonfiction for an upcoming print anthology.

They also welcome book reviews for the website all year round.

Submission period: November 1st 2012 to January 31st 2013

Submission Highlights

NO previously published work, whether print or online. This includes limited edition chapbooks and personal blogs.

Payment: One contributor copy, plus $10 for writers based in USA. International writers receive two copies.

Format: t MS Word documents (Times New Roman 11 or 12 pt preferred)

You may send:

  • 1-4 poems of any length. Single-spaced please, or how it should appear on the printed page.
  • 1 prose/creative nonfiction piece, 2 if under 500 words. Maximum word count: 2,500. Prose should be double-spaced.

Simultaneous submissions are fine with immediate notification if accepted elsewhere.

Rights:  great weather for MEDIA holds first serial rights for material. The copyright automatically reverts to the author upon publication. All work may be permanently archived online.  great weather for MEDIA asks that they are acknowledged in any subsequent publication of the work.
