Poetry is a literary magazine published by the Poetry Foundation, a US non-profit organization. Founder Harriet Monroe in 1912 wanted “to print the best English verse which is being written today, regardless of where, by whom, or under what theory of art it is written. Nor will the magazine promise to limit its editorial comments to one set of opinions.”
Poetry does accept work from international writers. They ask for unpublished submissions.
Payment is made on publication at the rate of US$10.00 per line (with a minimum payment of US$300), and US$150 per page of prose, for first serial rights. All rights will revert to the author upon publication. Authors will also receive two contributor copies of the issue in which their work appears
Read the submission guidelines carefully and use the online submissions manager HERE! They request that you set up a Poetry account to use the automated system. You can set up your account at submissions.poetrymagazine.org. The Editor asks that you familiarize yourself with the magazine at their site.

***Seawoman’s 2 cents: You don’t get many paying opportunities for poetry but this is a high paying one and you retain the majority of your rights! I also appreciated that Mr. Sasaki, the Editor responded to my query very quickly.
